VISKIT in 4 steps…
VISKIT offers an easy way to gather and evaluate data on nosocomial infections in Germany and Europe.
Register infection via the VISKIT mobile application
Process infection case in the VISKIT center
Data is stored on the
VISKIT server
Review statistical data of cooperating clinics and research institutes
Workflow of VISKIT 1.0
The following diagram shows the infection surveillance process using VISKIT.

Veterinarian and Animal Keeper
Animal keepers and veterinarians treat animals at animal clinics. 5-10% of the patients acquire infections at the hospital. Animal keepers record daily occupancy of stationsand number of patients while veterinarians register new infections in VISKIT.

Hygienist
The hygienist processes reported infection cases and decides wheter they are zoonotic or nosocomial. He/She surveills existing infection cases and improves the processes of the infection control program.

Supervising Hygienist
The supervising hygienist creates global reports and sends recommendations for the participating animal clincs.
